Throwback to one of the prettiest day last year at WTF2017. felt so excited when i’ve got WTF-3-day pass to this concert and yasss the lineup was pretty impressive so far! wait, have you known what is We-The-Fest? So, We The Fest is an annual summer festival of music, arts, fashion and food in Jakarta and happened on August 11, 12, 13, at JIEXPO Kemayoran. i was going there with my best-concert-mate-ever, Regi.
first day : SUMMER PARTY!
so lucky. It was sunny outside. we arrived at the venue around 3 p.m. waited a while in the car cause we coulnd’t handle Jakarta 32º C. And pretty amazed with the concept, all summer theme. Tropical Party, flowers, catchy
colour everywhere, the leaves, Old-Fashion teenagers, hot days and cool drinks. It was (nearly) like international music festival. Most people already dressed up properly with all the summer dress, short pants, t-shirt, slippers, sneakers, and other summer cozy outfit. And fyi, line up for first day super duper awesome.
Khalif, Indonesian hip hop singer who growing in NY, he’s so fucking attractive with his song ft. Dhipa Barus, Made in Jakarta. it’s kinda sad I realized that I didn’t take photos of him.
the stage name of Yuna Zarai, a Malaysian pop vocalist and guitarist, is Regi favorite singer. I remember I was in the charger booth, and I left him alone about one and a half hour when he enjoyed Yuna’s perform.
3. Charlie XCX.
BOOM!!!! Idk how to express these kind of feeling, BUT it was soooo 1000% cool performance. Boom Clap, Boys, I Love It, Break The Rules, etc. it was fun, We were singing out loud on that song. The crowd went crazy when she played I Love it.
I was there because Kodaline. Dublin, Ireland-based modern rock quartet Kodaline specialize in soaring, radio-ready guitar rock that’s drawn comparisons to Coldplay, Keane, U2, and Oasis. Kodaline was scheduled to concert at 11 P.M, and hell yeah the crowded increasingly toward main stage. I was so dizzy, but I got good spot to watched them live, so I didn’t move and wouldn’t give my spot to other. And at that night show they played Love Like This, Brother, The One, High Hopes (I can repeat this song 100 times everyday), All I Want, One Day. I realized that, every Kodaline’s song is recommended to be heard on the trip or long drive.
The heartbreaking story is I missed Shura’s performance.
D-1 = done and regi said, ”sumpah gue mau mati, gue beli minum aja bodo amat aqua 30ribu”
Second day : Meet Alt-Pop Electronic Band LANYYYY
I was not into Phoenix but I was interested with LAY-NEE!!! On the second day was more crowded than the day before. Even in the ticket booth, I was queueing up to 50 meter. Gonna met my high school best friend, Alya, but I got stuck with the crowd. So, regi and I moved quickly to Lany stage, but it was so many people there. We got ‘not-so-close’spot from the stage, and the stage’s not so high, so it really burden me as “high-average-indonesian-girl”. So, lany is The LA-based trio – Paul Klein, Les Priest and Jake Goss – have amassed a huge live fanbase. With the top tracks ILYSB, Good Girls, Pink Skies, Current Location, Where The Hell of My Friends, Super Far, The Break Up, 13, Dumb Stuff, and another song you MUST listen. It’s time to put your go-to playlist, with the same ol’ songs, to rest. Early 90’s styled synths, impeccable vocals, and catchy harmonies – you know that I’m in. Caught these guys the other day on a whim, hit play, and instantly fell in love. Endless support for them!!!
Then, I watched Phoenix performance cause of Regi. The crowd was more crazy than Lany. Soo many good songs i couldn’t remember. but i enjoyed it.
Third day : i was sick. so bye WTF 2017!
“I resent the crowd, but I enjoy the vibes” – Shab, XOXO.
